Fraternity Recruitment Aug. 22-29 '08

Fraternities and sororities @ UNM make academics a priority for members.... after all, that's why we're all here. Each chapter has its own individual academic program that is designed to aid new members with the tools necessary to be successful @ UNM. But the most valuable part of being in a fraternity of sorority is the opportunity to meet people who have similar majors and academic interests as you do.
Need an instant study partner? A fraternity or sorority is the place to find one! All of our chapters place the highest emphasis on academics. Every chapter has a scholarship program which includes incentives, scholarships, assistance, and standards. Your brothers and sisters want each chapter member to succeed academically, and these programs are designed to help you do your very best.
"Although considered social organizations, the fundamental nature of fraternities and sororities is their pursuit of knowledge through education. The Greeks have a strong history of setting high academic standards and providing numerous educational resources for their members. The academic environment cultivated by Greek organizations significantly contributed to my success as a student at the University of New Mexico. More importantly, my Greek involvement taught me to value life-long learning and was influential in my decision to become an educator. No other experience as a student has had a greater impact on my life."
John D. Benavidez
Faculty, Anderson Schools of Management
Alumnus, Phi Gamma Delta

Most UNM fraternities and sororities have above a 3.0 GPA.
