What is a multicultural fraternity or sorority?
A Multicultural fraternity or sorority is a close-knit group of friends who have a focus on scholarship, service, friendship and leadership. You may be asking yourself.... so what's the difference between these chapters and other fraternities and sororities that I have seen? Well, multicultural chapters have an added value of Cultural Pride. Cultural Pride is a cornerstone of Multicultural chapters, providing support and strenth to each organization, as well as a sense of purpose.
How do I join a multicultural fraternity or sorority?
Multicultural chapters recruit new members through a variety of ways. There is not a "recruitment week" for all Multicultural chapters at one time of the year, each chapter plans its own events throughout the year. This independence allows each chapter to create events that are specific to their values, as well as their cultural focus. To find out more about MGC chapters, join us for a "Meet the Greeks" session throughout the year or contact us by the following:
1) Fill out the online web request for information (click here)
2) Visit the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life (SUB 1018)
3) Fill out the interest form in our Greeks@UNM viewbook
4) Contact the individual fraternities or sororities @ UNM
